Nourish Your Kids
It is the time to go back to school for the kids. That usually means a time of higher stress and more contact with germs. Help support their immune systems this school year with nutrient dense foods that you can trust. Don’t know where to begin? No problem, we’ve got you covered. Check out these quick, simple meals utilizing our meats.
Easy Baked Chicken Drumsticks
Ingredients
8 King’s Rest Farm Drumsticks
Olive Oil
Your favorite seasoning (I prefer either a woodfire blend or a simple, garlic, onion, and paprika)
Instructions
Preheat oven to 425 degrees
Arrange chicken in an even layer on baking sheet and bake in the oven for 25 minutes or until thoroughly cooked through
Serve with a bagged salad or quick steam a simple veg
Ground Pork Hash
Ingredients
1 pound of King’s Rest Farm ground pork
1 bag of frozen potatoes, peppers, and onions combo
Seasoning to taste
Instructions
Cook frozen potato blend as instructed on the bag (I prefer to pop them in my stainless steel air fryer)
While the potato blend is cooking, heat olive oil or butter in a skillet and add the ground pork
Once the pork is thoroughly cooked and the potato blend is done cooking, add the potato blend to the skillet with the ground pork
Season hash with preferred seasonings
Once all of the spices are incorporated, it is ready to serve! (I like to top mine with some Primal Kitchen Chipotle sauce)
Instant Pot Whole Shredded Chicken BBQ Sandwiches
Ingredients
1 whole frozen King’s Rest Farm chicken
Preferred seasonings
Olive oil
Water
Instructions
Place trivet in the bottom of the Instant Pot and add 1 cup of cold water
Place whole frozen chicken in the Instant Pot
Drizzle olive oil on the chicken and add desired seasonings
Place lid on Instant Pot and turn to seal and set for high pressure at 60 minutes
Once done, let the pressure naturally release (remember to always check your meat with a meat thermometer to ensure it has reached safe temperature)
CAREFULLY (things will be hot) remove the chicken from the Instant Pot and add to a bowl
Remove chicken meat from the carcass and put back into the Instant Pot (there will be stock at the bottom of the Instant Pot once it is done so you can either save for later or dump out before putting your meat back in)
Grab a hand mixer and on the low setting, shred the chicken meat
Once the chicken is shredded to your liking, add a cup of your favorite BBQ sauce
Serve on buns and enjoy!
Throw the leftover carcass in the freezer so you can make stock when you have the time!
We hope these simple recipes will help bring a little calm to chaos knowing that you can trust the products that you are feeding to your family. Happy School Year!
